In a remarkable milestone for women empowerment and community health, the Rwanda Chef’s Association (RCA) joined the graduation ceremony of 80 women who successfully completed the first Cohort of Nutrition Ambassadors at Esther’s Aid.
This transformative program equipped women with practical skills to fight childhood malnutrition within their families and communities. Throughout the training, participants learned how to prepare balanced and nutritious meals using locally available and affordable ingredients such as eggs, beans, dodo, mushrooms, cabbage, French beans, tomatoes, garden eggs, eggplants, onions, and potatoes.
With the technical guidance and inspiration from professional chefs under RCA, the women discovered innovative ways to combine these foods to meet children’s nutritional needs while maintaining traditional Rwandan flavors.
This initiative reflects the shared vision of Esther’s Aid, RCA, and other partners — to empower women as agents of change in their homes and neighborhoods. By gaining knowledge and confidence in meal preparation, these women are not only improving family health but also opening doors to economic opportunities in the culinary and food industry.
The Rwanda Chef’s Association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such initiatives that promote nutrition, food security, and women’s empowerment, ensuring that every household has access to healthy and affordable meals.
Together, these efforts are creating a ripple effect — stronger families, healthier children, and more empowered women leading change in their communities.
